Two sides Of A Coin

You don’t buy too much with a penny,

But there’s two sides to a coin.

One is where I am today,

The other where I’m goin’.

Thinkin’ of my life

And where I want to be.

Night turns into daylight,

Another chance to see.

CHORUS

My momma always told me

“lay your weapon down.

No one is gonna listen

If you’re tearin’ up the town”.

I was born into this world

With my back against a wall.

Never knew of comfort

Or had a place to fall.

 Two sides of a coin

Means I gotta a chance.

Promises to my children,

Let ‘em hold it in their hands.

Like a glass of water

In the middle of the night,

Take what someone gives to you

and hold it to the light.

My momma always told me

“lay your weapon down.

No one’s gonna listen

If you’re tearin’ up the town”.

I was born into this world

With my back against a wall.

Never knew of comfort

Or had a place to fall.
