How It Goes

Jovani is just a-rollin'

down the street in his chair.

The sun, it still shines on him.

He bought dark glasses to wear.

He tells me "I'm not the one who's out of luck;

there are those much worse out there.

Today, I'd like to roll a little further though.

But I don't dare.

You see, batteries are limited.

And I can't carry a spare.

Courage carries me out my door;

but it's power that gets me there."

And if you see me,

If you see me,

somewhere on the side of the road,

on the side.

Don't just wave to me.

Don't just wave to me,

Ask me how it goes.

Ask me how it goes?

Ever since my accident,

and the loss of my legs.

the world has been such a different place.

And I feel it when I'm late.

You know, it's hard

to get in some where

when there's only stairs.

And people don't know what to do

to help you, even if they care.

So if you see me,

If you see me,

somewhere on the side of the road,

on the side.

Don't just wave to me.

Don't just wave to me,

Ask me how it goes.

Ask me how it goes?

Jovani is one of many who

face hardship every day.

He never had to ask for help;

And he don't want to today.

You know, we all have to recognize

when people need a hand.

There, but for the grace of God go I!

People, aid your fellow man.

And if you see me,

If you see me,

somewhere on the side of the road,

on the side.

Don't just wave to me.

Don't just wave to me,

Ask me how it goes.

Ask me how it goes?
